Dr. Sharma was born and raised in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. She acquired her hard-working disposition and work ethic from her parents, who emigrated from India to the United States with dreams to provide a better future for their family. It is no surprise that Dr. Sharma’s role model is her mother, who obtained a degree in Pharmacy while simultaneously raising two young children. When Dr. Sharma was younger, she would accompany her mom to Bergen Regional Hospital, where she worked as a Pharmacologist. While her mom worked, Dr. Sharma got first hand experience of the medical field by observing and meeting patients at the hospital. The early exposure to patient care and health professionals might have been what developed her passion for the medical field. As a physician today, Dr. Sharma’s focus is on compassion and empathy in order to provide the best care for those who are suffering from pain conditions.
Dr. Sharma treats her patients with the same care and understanding as she would her own family. At the beginning of her medical career, Dr. Sharma’s mom became ill and that experience further motivated her medical career Dr. Sharma strives to provide all-encompassing treatment by first trying to understand the root of the issue, taking into account the patient’s medical history, evaluating their lifestyle or habits, and any other aspect that may be causing their pain. She then makes every effort to customize a treatment plan for each patient while providing emotional and moral support throughout their healing journey.
