About Dr. Kim
Dr. Steven Kim, Vein Specialist received his B.A. in Biochemistry from Cornell University, then completed his M.S. from Columbia University and his M.D. from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. He trained at Lenox Hill Hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and has worked as a clinical educator for major healthcare corporations such as Johnson & Johnson and Gilead Sciences.
Dr. Kim brings his expertise in treating varicose veins and vein disease to the CORE Medical & Wellness family. He believes that vein diseases are among the most misunderstood clinical problems by patients, who are often uninformed about options they have to treat these debilitating and unattractive conditions.
Dr. Kim also believes that varicose veins and vein disease are often underdiagnosed and overlooked by primary care physicians and other doctors simply because they don’t know how to treat them or who to refer patients to. Given that these conditions can be hereditary, there is often a misconception that treatment is not available for varicose veins. As a result, the lack of knowledge can render multiple members in a family to suffer with pain and live in discomfort. Varicose vein treatment has advanced so dramatically that patients at CORE Medical & Wellness can be easily treated with a laser, which can produce immediate results. Patients are able to return home or even work within a few hours after treatment.
In 2015, Dr. Kim founded The Vein Treatment Center, where he served as medical director. He also co-founded and was the medical director of FirstMed Urgent Care Clinic in Fort Lee, NJ.
Dr. Kim enjoys spending time educating the community about vein disease treatment and screening patients for vein disease. He is excited to serve patients at CORE Medical & Wellness and looks forward to being part of this community.
Dr. Kim also enjoys the beach, non-fiction books, attempting to play the piano, and spending time with his spouse and two children, Matthew and Ella. He is a long-suffering Mets fan.
