Many people suffer from chronic or superficial skin conditions, which show themselves in a variety of ways, including raised blood vessels, discoloration, or lesions. While many of these conditions might be harmless to your overall health, they often impact your quality of life and can cause uneasiness and depression. Venacure EVLT is a state-of-the-art laser treatment for varicose veins thanks in part to its glass weld tip, which allows for precise and efficient vein therapy.

How Does EVLT Laser Treatment Work?

EVLT, a laser system created by Venacure, uses an innovative system to administer powerful and potent treatment to abnormal blood vessels under the skin. The veins absorb the beam and are continuously heated until they disappear altogether. EVLT can be altered to meet each patient’s specific needs, thanks to its adjustable sizes which allow your physician to accurately and efficiently target problem areas. To reduce side effects and the chance of any downtime after treatment, EVLT also uses a glass weld tip to reduce the laser’s power density by over half that of other treatments. This results in an ablation with a less charred vein wall when compared with bare-tip fibers.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

Treatment using Venacure EVLT is minimally invasive, and only requires a local anesthetic.  During the procedure, your physician guides the EVLT laser over the area to be treated, adjusting the beam’s size and intensity until the affected vessels are no longer visible. This may be repeated several times, depending on the size and severity of your vascular skin problems, though the entire procedure generally takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour.

What Conditions Can EVLT Treat?

As one of the most state-of-the-art treatments for vascular skin conditions, Venacure EVLT is able to quickly and effectively treat varicose veins. These swollen, rope-like veins generally appear on the legs and can be painful or tender to the touch. They are caused by venous insufficiency, a disease that causes malfunctions in the one-way valves in your veins, allowing blood to pool and causing veins to become visible.

Can EVLT Treat My Skin Type?

EVLT is safe for any type of skin, from very light to very dark. Your physician will determine the correct wavelength and beam size for your treatment. In most cases, a lower wavelength is ideal for treating very light to moderate skin pigments, while higher wavelengths can be used on any type of skin.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Because your doctor will account for your specific needs before the procedure, Venacure EVLT is incredibly effective. In many cases, you may only need one treatment session, though this number can vary depending on the size, severity, and location of your varicose veins. Entire veins can be eliminated in one sitting, although you may need additional treatment down the road if the condition persists.
