About Dr. Desai Anesthesiology & Interventional Pain at Core Medical & Wellness
Dr. Jag Desai, M.D. is Double Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Medicine. His interest is in preventing and treating degenerative processes that can lead to conditions such as: back pain, musculoskeletal pain, cancer pain, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), minimally invasive spine procedures, and muscle spasticity.
Dr. Desai’s Education
Dr. Desai received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from New Jersey Institute of Technology-Newark, where he majored in Biomedical Engineering. He went on to receive his medical degree at the Rutgers Medical School – Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine in Piscataway, NJ. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. Dr. Desai also completed a fellowship at the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center – Cornell University in New York.

Dr. Desai provides Regenerative Medicine Therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy, Stem Cell Treatments, Bio-Identical Hormone Optimization, Facet Nerve Blocks, Epidurals, Trigger Point Injections, Musculoskeletal Joint Injections and Spinal Cord Stimulation.
Born in London, England, Dr. Desai came to America when he was just one year old. He grew up in Kearny, New Jersey, which is also known as “Soccer Town, USA.” On weekends, he enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and spending quality time with his kids.Friends and family make up the core of Dr. Desai’s life, as they bring him much joy and provide great support, especially throughout his career. He believes that patients should be treated as people first, as if they are his family and friends. This is just one of the reasons why he co-founded of CORE Medical & Wellness, to create a practice that does more than just treat patients. Dr. Desai firmly believes that providing innovative healthcare means to also have compassion and integrity for patients as people.
