Interventional Pain Management
Interventional pain management is a hands-on, highly personalized approach to treating acute or chronic pain. We use a blend of holistic therapies and cutting-edge treatments to relieve your pain and get you back to the activities you enjoy. Conditions we treat include, but are not limited to:
- Failed Back Syndrome
- Chronic Pain Syndrome
- Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
- Diabetic Neuropathy
- Phantom Limb Pain
- Arthritis
- Back, Neck, or Shoulder Pain
- Knee or Hip Pain
- Headaches
- Shingles
We understand how debilitating pain can be, and we are aware that conventional treatments are not long-lasting. At CORE, we believe in helping our patients discover their own pathways to better health. Our interventional pain management solutions include, but are not limited to:
Facet Medial Branch Blocks / Radiofrequency Ablations
A diagnostic procedure used to locate the source of spinal pain, a facet medial branch block can also provide pain relief. If this quick nerve block relieves your pain, you may be a candidate for a radiofrequency ablation, in which the painful nerve is burned off for relief that typically lasts a year or longer.
Epidural Steroid Injections
Epidural steroid injections treat inflammatory pain in the neck, shoulders, arms, or back, and can help to heal nerve compression caused by herniated discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, and similar conditions. Steroids are anti-inflammatory medications absorbed by irritated nerves to reduce swelling and pressure, thus alleviating pain.
Trigger Point Injections
When deep knots form in muscles, they can be very difficult to relieve with massage and other external techniques. Trigger point injections deflate the muscle, quickly alleviating the knots and providing fast relief.
Spinal Cord Stimulation
Spinal cord stimulation delivers a continuous, low-voltage, electric current to the spinal cord, blocking pain sensations. This FDA approved treatment can relieve chronic pain of the trunk and limbs, even when other pain management techniques have failed.
